Blackjack
Blackjack is the most popular table game among those who play at online casinos. Blackjack is a game of chance where you can do quite a bit yourself to secure winnings. It is also a game with simple rules. It's about being able to count and keep the focus on just one number, which is 21. If you succeed, playing blackjack can be both fun and lucrative.
Numerical Values On the Cards in Blackjack
In blackjack, 52 cards are used in the deck and there are therefore no jokers in the game. All cards have a value. Aces actually have two, since it can be worth both 1 or 11. All the queen, jack and king face cards have the same value. They are worth 10. The other cards in the deck have the same value as face value. That is, from 2 to 10, so a fiver is worth 5 and an eight is worth 8. To get a real blackjack, you must get an ace and a card with a value of 10 on the first two cards you are dealt, but it is also considered blackjack if you get the sum of 21 on three or more cards.
How to win at blackjack
There are three ways to win at blackjack:
You get a blackjack / 21 without the dealer doing the same.
You get a higher hand than the croupier without exceeding 21.
The hand is worth less than 21, but the croupier's hand goes over 21.
In blackjack, all the play takes place on one table.
In blackjack, you play at a table against a croupier. You can be alone at the table, or there can be other players there. At physical tables it can be from one to six players. How many players play does not matter, because in blackjack you do not play against the other players at the table. All bets are made against the croupier representing the bank or house. That is why it is always the dealer you have to beat. At the physical table, the croupier is on one side facing all players. In front of them, all players have an area for placing bets and cards. The dealer also has a space in front of him for his cards. In addition, he also has what is called a shoe. This is where one or more decks of cards are placed and which the croupier deals the cards. Between one and eight decks of cards are used.
The course of the game
In blackjack, it is a matter of getting the number 21 or getting as close as possible while beating the dealer. By all means, you must not get a sum that is higher than 21. Then you are out of the game. It all starts with all players placing their bets on the table. The dealer then deals a card to all the players as well as one to himself and this card is face up. Then a card is dealt to all the players, and once again the dealer gives the card to himself last. All cards are face up except the croupier's card. It is with the picture side down and this is how the game starts. Then starts analysis, choice of tactics, and focus on other players' choices.
Other choices in Blackjack
Hit and stand is the most common, but there are other choices you can make during the game. Here, too, it is important to familiarize yourself with the rules at each table / game and at the various casinos. It is not always available, but for the most part you can choose Double Down, split, insurance and surrender. Surrenders in particular are not an option in some casinos.
Split is something you can do if the first two cards you get are the same. Do you have e.g. a couple of 8, you can split them. This means that you continue with two hands, but first you have to place another bet that is as big as the original. Then draw cards or not on each hand. So hit or stand for each hand. Here, too, you can draw as many cards as you want on each hand. The exception is if you split two aces. Then you are only allowed to draw one card for each hand. It is also the case that if the sum on a hand is 21, it does not count as a blackjack, so then one can hope that the dealer does not manage a blackjack. Nevertheless, it is recommended to split if you get a pair of aces. The rules for splitting can vary, so it is important to familiarize yourself with them before splitting.
Double Down is something you can choose after two cards have been dealt. If you then think you are winning with one more card, you double the bet. The rules around doubling can also vary.
